Maurice presents, Bart’s House by Jackson’s House, a housewarming party and visual art exhibition featuring the works of Baltimore artist, Bartosz Tararuj.
This exhibition represents the inequities of loss, and the quiet exuberance of new beginnings; Tararuj recently moved into his new residence during a period of transition, and the floral arrangements, both physical and painted, echo the meditative ritual and banality of domestic cohabitation.
Tararuj describes the floral paintings as “Something Blooming Something Missing”, an evocative and descriptive title for paintings that are relatively unassuming upon first inspection. The paintings offer a type of visual Haiku in their simplicity, allowing for soft crescendos of hue that watercolor the sentiment of the work; a melancholy, yet optimistic quasi-visual self-portrait of the artist himself.
Maurice continues to explore satellite exhibition opportunities, as well as our regular programming at 806. Berry St. in Baltimore.
